Jelica was the Executive Director of the Deaf-Blind Service Center for five years. Prior to that she had an extensive career in the health service field and graduated from Emory University in 1996 with a Master’s degree in Public Health. She consults in advocacy and communication access for deaf-blind persons, and serves in leadership positions with the American Association of Deaf-Blind, Georgia Association of Deaf-Blind, and Washington Association of Deaf-Blind. Jelica is currently a member of the Washington State Governor’s Council on Disabilities and Employment.
Theresa Smith
Theresa has over thirty years of experience writing curricula, teaching and supervising educational programs. She is the former Director of the Interpreter Training Program at Seattle Central Community College and was previously the Director of the American Sign Language Interpreting School of Seattle (ASLIS). She is also the author of “Guidelines for Working and Socializing with Deaf-Blind People” published by Sign Media.
Rob Roth
Rob coordinates a summer computing academy for deaf, hard of hearing, and deaf-blind high school and college students at the University of Washington. His past positions include Executive Director of Community Service Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CSCDHH) and Executive Director for the Deaf Counseling, Advocacy & Referral Agency (DCARA) in the San Francisco Bay area. Rob has a Masters degree in Art Education from California State University, Northridge.
Jackie Matthews
Jackie coordinates interpreters and SSPs for the National Support Service Provider Pilot Project Program (NSSPPP) program and she is a freelance interpreter. Her past positions include working as an interpreter coordinator at the University of Washington and at Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind, where she also coordinated SSPs.
